Tissue Paper Tassel Garland

We're excited to share Rosemary's first birthday party, featuring our Pink Paisley Lucy Bubble. The party incorporated the birthday girl's love of bunnies and various shades of pink! We've asked Rosie's mom, who just happens to also be one of the mamas behind the scenes here at SA, to share all the fun details...

I had so much fun planning Rosie's first birthday party! My older child is a boy so this very PINK party was a fun departure from the Lego and train parties of our past few years. I'll be sure to spill all the girly elements, but first up, everyone's favorite - the food!

With one-year-olds, naptimes can be tricky and unpredictable. Since our little girl was sure to be happy and awake in the morning, we planned a breakfast party and served bagels with various cream cheese flavors, fruit salad, and other yummy breakfast treats. Big kids enjoyed some sparkling pink lemonade while the moms and dads sipped on pink grapefruit mimosas and a coffee bar.

For dessert, we served fresh doughnuts - pink with sprinkles, of course! I also made cute little bunny sugar cookies for the guests to take home. I love the sugar cookie and royal icing recipes from Bake at 350, shared by The Pioneer Woman here.

For the most important dessert, the birthday cake, I had to find a yummy vegan recipe since Rosie is allergic to dairy and eggs. I used this one and made a cake just big enough for the birthday girl to smash, since all the other party guests had plenty of other sweet options. And smash it she did!
